INGREDIENTS:
1 large tart green apple Cinnamon Sugar (ratio is 1:4) 1 tablespoon cinnamon to 1/4 cup sugar ½ pkg of Puff Pastry, thawed 1 egg (for egg wash) Turbinado Sugar
DIRECTIONS:
1. On a lightly floured cutting board, cut one sheet of puff pastry into fourths. Then cut the corners, slicing about 1 ½ inches.
2. Wash and cut apple into rings. Cut out the center core. 3. Put cinnamon sugar in a bowl or plate. Coat the apple slice on both sides with the cinnamon sugar. 4. Place the apple in the center of the puff pastry. Bend the corners into the center of the apple (making a flower). 5. Brush the pastry with the egg wash. Sprinkle with the Turbinado Sugar. 6. Put the individual apple turnovers into parchment paper on a cookie sheet or use a splat mat on a cookie sheet. 7. Bake for 10 minutes.
